Are any of the following true?
- ⁃ Your patient’s arch is edentulous
- ⁃ The arch does have teeth, but insufficient AP spread, like the following examples:
- ⁃ Just second molars
- ⁃ Only 22 and 27
- ⁃ 22 through 27, but in a very straight line
If any of these conditions exist, then your patient is insufficiently dentate and will need a marker-based protocol.
If your patient has 3 or more teeth, and they form a good triangular spread, then your patient is sufficiently dentate.
